Rural Healthcare Developers has signed an agreement with Union County Health & Rehab in New Albany to provide in-house psychiatric services, CEO Ray Shoemaker announced.
The services will provide treatment and evaluation to Union County Health & Rehab residents with mental illnesses. The ultimate goal of the agreement is to maintain residents in their current setting and hopefully prevent or decrease inpatient hospitalizations.
The agreement goes into effect in September 2010. Charlene King, a behavioral health specialist with RHD, will be the provider for the program.
Rural Healthcare Developers, with headquarters in Tupelo, MS, manages five inpatient behavioral health units and seven outpatient programs. RHD owns or manages six hospitals in Mississippi, Tennessee and Louisiana.
Inpatient behavioral health units are Patients’ Choice Senior Care of Tippah County, Patients’ Choice Senior Care of Claiborne County, Patients’ Choice Senior Care of Humphreys County, Senior Life Solutions of Yazoo City, MS, Patients’ Choice Senior Care of Erin, TN, and Calcasieu Oaks Behavioral Center in Lake Charles, LA.
RHD hospitals are located in Belzoni, MS; Port Gibson, MS,; Erin, TN,; Cameron, LA,; Lake Charles, LA; and Raleigh, MS.
