RHD to provide services in New Albany

Rural Healthcare Developers has signed an agreement with Union County Health & Rehab in New Albany to provide in-house psychiatric services, CEO Ray Shoemaker announced.

The services will provide treatment and evaluation to Union County Health & Rehab residents with mental illnesses. The ultimate goal of the agreement is to maintain residents in their current setting and hopefully prevent or  decrease inpatient hospitalizations.

The agreement goes into effect in September 2010. Charlene King, a behavioral health specialist with RHD, will be the provider for the program.

Rural Healthcare Developers, with headquarters in Tupelo, MS,  manages five inpatient behavioral health units and seven outpatient programs. RHD owns or manages six hospitals in Mississippi, Tennessee and Louisiana.

Inpatient behavioral health units are Patients’ Choice Senior Care of Tippah County, Patients’ Choice Senior Care of Claiborne County, Patients’ Choice Senior Care of Humphreys County, Senior Life Solutions of Yazoo City, MS, Patients’ Choice Senior Care of Erin, TN, and Calcasieu Oaks Behavioral Center in Lake Charles, LA.

RHD hospitals are located in Belzoni, MS; Port Gibson, MS,; Erin, TN,; Cameron, LA,; Lake Charles, LA; and Raleigh, MS.

Senior Life Solutions IOP in Flora

Rural Healthcare Developers will be managing a Senior Life Solutions Intensive Outpatient Program at Flora, MS, CEO Ray Shoemaker announced.

Senior Life Solutions, managed by RHD, is the behavioral health unit of Kings’ Daughters Hospital in Yazoo City.

In conjunction with the program, which will open on October 1, RHD has purchased a new wheelchair lift van that will provide transportation for patients coming from areas including Hinds, Madison, Yazoo and Warren counties to be served by the Flora IOP.

RHD also manages a Senior Life Solutions IOP in Canton, MS; and Senior Living IOP in Rolling Fork, MS.  RHD has Patients’ Choice outpatient programs in Ripley, MS; Raleigh, MS; Erin, TN; Yazoo City, MS; Port Gibson, MS and Lake Charles, LA.

RHD moves headquarters to Tupelo

RHD Headquarters

The headquarters of Rural Healthcare Developers is moving to 7,200 square feet of executive office space in the heart of downtown Tupelo. The move from the Plantersville location is to be completed by August 1.

The new offices provide much needed additional space for RHD corporate staff. The larger location will provide expanded accommodations for RHD’s accounting services and the offices of CEO Ray Shoemaker and CFO Pam Chesher. Also included in the headquarters office are Human Resources, Transportation, Corporate Culture and Compliance and Communications.

Since the beginning of Rural Healthcare Developers in December 2006, Plantersville has served as its headquarters location. The company has grown to now own and manage six hospitals in three states. The most recent addition to RHD managed facilities is Patients’ Choice Medical Center of Smith County in Raleigh, MS., added to the company in May 2010.

RHD also manages six inpatient geriatric psychiatric programs and eight outpatient programs.

“With the growth of our company in the past four years, we have simply outgrown our existing headquarters office,” said CEO Ray Shoemaker. “The new offices in Tupelo will allow us to grow and provide outstanding support to our hospitals and facilities and those which we will come in the future.”
